Procedures and Requirements For Weddings in Mazatlán, Mexico

For National Contractors
- For original and copy of birth certificate (issued within the last 30 days). Nationals
- Valid official identification (INE or passport) with a copy.
- Printed CURP of both spouses.
- Prenuptial medical certificate indicating good health (blood type and absence of contagious diseases).
- Recent proof of address.
- Proof of marital status: single, widowed or divorced (if applicable, present a death certificate or divorce certificate).
- Witnesses: minimum two, with identification and copy.

For Foreign Contracting Parties
- Original and copy of birth certificate, apostilled and translated (if not in Spanish).
- Valid official identification (INE or passport) with a copy.
- Printed CURP of both spouses.
- Prenuptial medical certificate indicating good health (blood type and absence of contagious diseases).
- Recent proof of address.
- Proof of single status, divorce certificate, or death certificate, apostilled and translated if applicable.
- Witnesses: minimum two, with identification and copy.
In addition to the above documents:
- Valid passport and immigration form (FMM or visa) with a copy.
- Valid official identification (INE or passport) with a copy.
- Marriage procedures may require the foreigner to arrive at least 2–3 business days in advance to undergo medical tests in Mexico.
- Marriage certificate cost: Varies by municipality. In Sinaloa, it costs around $529 MXN for registering foreign marriage certificates.
All documents issued abroad must be apostilled (or legalized if the country is not a party to the Hague Convention) and translated into Spanish by a certified translator before submission.
